Vintage Sound: Blossom Dearie
Blossom Dearie may be one of the best artists that very few remember.
The jazz singer had an extensive career and is known for her high-pitched voice and her lullabye-esque sound. I discovered her music several years ago through Spotify and have been a fan ever since.
According to Wikipedia, Dearie recieved her name because a neighbor delivered peach blossoms to her house the day she was born. How sweet is that story?
In her life, Dearie created her own record label, lent her voice to the School House Rock series and performed jazz classics in the way they were supposed to be heard. Dearie has become one of my favorites and I'm sure you will love her as well.
Dearie's dreamy version of, "The Surrey With The Fringe on Top," is my personal favorite and is included in the Cameron Cait playlist on Spotify.
