Internal Analytics And Your Information:
SQUARESPACE:
Squarespace offers an analytics service. The analytics page uses cookies to show location, the type of web browser, activity log of user that does include IP address, popular content, the number of button clicks and how many subscribers have joined the email list.
GOOGLE ANALYTICS:
In addition to Squarespace Analytics, I use Google Analytics to legitimize my site on the Google platform, view what content works and understand ways to better engage my audience.
It also will allow me to place Google Ads on my site in the future.
Google Analytics uses cookies to track website users and their behavior while on my website. Google Analytics does track identifying information like IP addresses, name of browser service, how you arrived at my website and location to analyze where viewers are coming from. I use this information mainly to see what pages and blog posts are working for my audience. For more information about what Google Analytics uses, here is a good website reference.
ADVERTISEMENTS:
I don’t currently have ads on my website, but may have them in the future. If and when I do this, the policy will be updated and I will share how I use this resource and what it means for you.
AFFILIATE MARKETING:
I currently don’t participate in affiliate marketing, but promise that I will notate sponsored content clearly if I do.
Email:
Email addresses are collected on the website for correspondence and for an email list to update users when a new content is posted to the site.
This is not to bombard users with useless information and will be sent sparingly.
I use a third party website, MailChimp, to organize the addresses. This allows me to organize emails and create custom templates for emails. The emails collected are only used for correspondence and the email list. If you would like to unsubscribe, please email me or simply click the unsubscribe link on the confirmation email. I do not share these addresses with anyone else.
Social Media:
As far a social media goes, I am on several platforms:
Facebook: I have a Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/CameronCaitPhotography/ that I use to promote my blog post and recent images. I do not use Facebook Ads but if I do decide to use them, I will update the policy.
Instagram: I am currently using a regular account for @Cameroncaitphotography. Users can come to the website from the social media site. I do see who likes images and stories in the same way anyone else who has an account would see them.
Pinterest: I use the business version of Pinterest. This allows you to view analytics from your pins (posts you have made). It shows impressions (views) of the pin, source of traffic and browser service, popular content and clicks on the pins. I just use this to diversify my reach with my blog. I haven’t promoted any content but may in the future.
Spotify: I have a Spotify playlist that I update for my blog, “Music and Lyrics.” The only information that I might get is if someone adds the playlist.
